Wee Explorers Preschool was first established in 1973 and is now a designated non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality Pre-Kindergarten education in a nurturing and playful learning environment. Wee Explorers is a family collaborative preschool and family members are a vital and integral part of our school community.

Wee Explorers Preschool welcomes children ages 3 to 5 in a multi-age setting. In alignment with our local schools, our students must be 3 years old by September 1st. We follow the Lamoille South Supervisory Union (LSSU) school calendar.

The class size is 12 students with 2 early childhood educators.

Our program meets 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday from 8:00am-1:00pm.

“Nothing without Joy!”

Loris Malaguzzi

Founder of the Reggio Emilia Approach to

Early Childhood Education

The heart of our philosophy at Wee Explorers is the belief that joyful learning experiences lay the foundation for a successful educational journey. Play is at the heart of our program. We understand that play is a child’s natural language and a powerful tool for exploration and self-expression. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we believe in the inherent capabilities of every child and the importance of a learning environment that sparks curiosity and creativity.

At Wee Explorers, we prioritize the social and emotional well-being of each child. Through play and shared experiences, children learn valuable life skills such as cooperation, communication and empathy. We strive to create an environment where children feel safe, valued and encouraged to express themselves authentically. Our educators recognize and respect the individuality of each student, understanding that each child has their own unique gifts and develops at their own pace.

As a parent cooperative, we recognize the importance of collaboration between educators and parents. We view parents as essential partners where, together, we create an inclusive and supportive community where everyone contributes to the well-being and growth of each child.

“Play is the highest form of research.”
